You Are More Powerful Than You Think

“In a meeting, a mentee talked about her 3 job offers without knowing what she really wanted. I no longer felt bitter that I didn’t get that opportunity. Instead, I feel grounded. Because I know exactly what I want, which is to learn and grow myself. A promotion is the inevitable outcome of my growth.”

My client told me this in a coaching session yesterday. I smiled. She’s come a long way.

When she started coaching with me, she was unclear about what she wanted. She wasn’t fulfilled at work. She didn’t have the confidence to pursue things that stretched her so she played safe. She got triggered and sabotaged herself all the time. She knew she treated herself as a victim but she couldn’t help it.

She graduated from the best school in Taiwan. She came to the U.S. and got more degrees and certificates. Her experience seems to be glorious from the outside. But none of these matters because she felt like a fake.

It’s about a year-long journey for her.

We started with her energy. How she shows up on a good day and on a bad day. She learned being a victim is the lowest energy causing her to withdraw from her life. With the awareness, she practiced ways to move herself up consciously.
We explored her values. What makes her heart sing and sink. What’s aligned and misaligned with what she really wanted to do. How she behaved out of fear or desire.
We learned the mastery mindset where everything is just information to help her make the next best decision. Thinking this way, she started to turn seemingly bad outcomes into gifts.
We discovered how we often do not love ourselves enough and rely on others to validate us. She went deep to reconnect with her essence: the confident child who loved herself unconditionally.

Little by little, she applied for a position that’s a stretch for her and got it.
She changed from pressuring herself with the “not enough” mentality to following her curiosity.
She stopped making assumptions about situations and took up the space to ask direct questions.
She learned that being confident is the result of taking actions, not a prerequisite.
She now has the courage and energy to make changes.
She opens herself up to other possibilities: working remotely, working in a non-profit, trusting her intuition and the universe.

Her transformation is amazing to watch. She’s ready to reach success in her own definition with love and joy.

“You hold the power to create your dream life, if only you would believe it.”~ Hiral Nagda

Every single one of us is more powerful than we think. Sometimes, we just can’t see it for ourselves.
If you are ready to spark on your own journey to fulfillment, lets talk!
