I got into the habit of writing about my journey, especially on sharing my struggles and learnings. It was uncomfortable to be so vulnerable, yet I know people resonate with my darkest fears and doubts.
Today, I’m gonna do something different – celebrating my wins.
For most high achievers, once we set a goal and hit it, we immediately think about what’s next. What we just achieved became so normal for us that it’s nothing worth celebrating. I celebrate and champion my clients all the time because they often do not see how powerful they are.
Yet, when I turn the spotlight to myself, it’s even more uncomfortable than sharing my struggles. It takes more courage for me to put humility on the side to truly celebrate the failures, the progress, and the results.
I learn from my own coach that celebrating myself is actually a skillset I can cultivate!
To model it and to be truly visible (yes, I still feel like hiding behind words), it’s the first time I’m putting a picture of me in the post!
Today I’m celebrating:
- The 5 NOs and 2 YESs I collected from my coaching proposals in the past month
- Kicking off my first group coaching program for engineering leaders this week
- The courage to message a CEO and secured an interview with him for my white paper on building employee-first culture. The thought of “why not” really helps.
Your turn! What are you celebrating?
I dare you to put it in public and let’s celebrate together!
Love,
Wen
