My new ebook “Inspiring Women Who BossUp; Learning the ways of Women on the rise making an impact”, is coming out December 13, 2022!
Whenever I stretch myself, I feel uneasy. This time is the same. The thought of being an author goes way beyond my comfort zone. When I got connected with this book deal, I wasn’t so sure. My imposter came strong on me:
- Am I inspiring enough to be in this book series?
- Will anyone be interested in my stories?
- It feels like cheating when I only write a chapter and not the entire book.
- What if no one buys the book?
As scary as it was, I learned the power of telling my stories. Through Managers Club, The Tao Of Self-Confidence podcasts and an elpha spotlight article, I got to inspire and connect with so many people. People who I normally won’t be able to touch.
Therefore, I came out of hiding and started believing that being visible is the first step for me to create miracles.
Yet, it still took me a week to work up the courage to commit. 😅
I like the feeling of expansion. I love to create new experiences and to get to places that I don’t know I could. Once I focus on what I can learn in the process, my fears step aside to let my excitement lead the way.
One of the most exciting parts about this book is the diverse representation. This book series profiles women who have broken the mold to achieve, overcome difficulties or inspire change through relentless endeavor. Hailing from across the globe, diverse walks of life and varied disciplines including STEM, healthcare, finance, coaching and non-profits.
I often joke that I’m the minority in the minority – a Taiwanese, a woman in tech, and a lesbian. I’ve experienced many biases and oppressions. It’s important for me to be seen and be heard as who I am. In this book, I asked the publisher include graphics with different shapes and looks of inspiring women to break the “superwoman” stereotype.
You can help by ordering your copy of Inspiring Women Who BossUp; Learning the ways of Women on the rise making an impact on Amazon on Tuesday, December 13th (makes a great gift!)
