I believe that progress was about taking small, careful steps forward.
Yet, oftentimes, my biggest transformations—the ones that truly changed me— happened when I took a leap.
Each time, it felt terrifying.
Each time, it required leaning into the 20% I truly desired and letting go of the 80% that felt safe and familiar.
Yet, every time, I 10x’d—not just in my career or success, but in freedom, self-trust, and agency over my life.
“Anytime you’ve committed to something you wanted and transformed through that commitment, you went 10x. You made a fundamental and qualitative upgrade that permanently expanded your freedoms and agency.”
—Dan Sullivan, 10x Is Easier Than 2x
Here are some of my biggest 10x jumps—and what it took to make them.
📌 Jump #1: Studying Abroad
💡 20% The desire to expand my horizon
⚠️ 80% Letting go of familiar people, culture, and certainty
Moving to a new country to study was terrifying.
Would I make friends? Would I belong? Would I fail?
I could have stayed where it was safe and familiar. Instead, I took the leap—and expanded my world in ways I could never have planned for.
📌 Jump #2: Finding a Job in the U.S.
💡 20% A drive to create a new life
⚠️ 80% Facing the disadvantages of being a non-native employee, doubts, and fears
I remember sitting in job interviews, feeling like I had to convince them I was worth hiring—despite my accent, despite not having a visa, despite not having a network.
But I pushed through the fear and found work that allowed me to build my new life.
📌 Jump #3: Stepping into Leadership
💡 20% A desire to create a better work environment
⚠️ 80% The belief that “introverts can’t be great leaders”
For years, I thought leadership was reserved for loud, extroverted people—not quiet, deep thinkers like me.
But I stepped up anyway. And I learned that leadership is about impact, not volume.
By embracing my strengths as a quiet leader, I began to thrive—and now I help others to do the same.
📌 Jump #4: Becoming a Full-Time Coach
💡 20% The love of creating life-changing impact and freedom on my own terms
⚠️ 80% Fear of leaving a steady paycheck behind
I left behind a multi-6-figure tech salary for the unknown. No guarantees. No stability. Just trust in myself.
Through the ups and downs, I’ve grown at an incredible speed.
It’s been the most fulfilling decision I’ve ever made.
📌 Jump #5: Speaking & Writing Publicly
💡 20% Love of self-expression and impact
⚠️ 80% Fear of judgment as a non-native speaker and writer (and, of course, the familiar “who do you think you are?” voice)
Speaking in front of people used to terrify me.
But I realized that my voice—imperfect accent and all—was worth being heard.
And my incorrect grammar doesn’t take away my power to move, touch, and inspire people.
By showing up, I let my people know: They are not alone. They, too, can show up unapologetically.
📌 Jump #6: Donating 1% of My Income to Charity
💡 20% Impacting the world
⚠️ 80% Overcoming money scarcity
I grew up being taught to save, save, save. I was stingy toward myself and others.
With the commitment to shift my relationship with money, I started donating 1% of my income to charity—even when I made very little.
This shift helped me realize: I alone can make an impact! And, me making more money is actually great for the world!
📌 Jump #7: Getting Married
💡 20% Expanding into unconditional love
⚠️ 80% Fear of whether I could create the marriage I desired
If you told me five years ago that I would be married today, I would have laughed.
Yet, opening myself up to being the author of my marriage was one of the biggest leaps—one that taught me to trust myself in building a partnership rooted in love, growth, and possibility.
Every time I made a 10x leap, I had a choice: Stay where it’s safe, or expand into something greater.
Every time, the fear was real. The doubts were loud. The discomfort was intense.
But 10x growth isn’t about working harder—it’s about shifting into a new level of freedom, trust, and self-expression.
And here’s the best part:
✨ It’s always available to you.
What’s the thing you know will expand your life but feels scary right now?
What’s the belief, habit, or identity that you’re willing to let go of to create something bigger?
I’d love to hear what your next 10x jump is!
Loving you,
Wen
