From 0 to 1,000: My Journey to PCC Certification

When I worked with a coach for the very first time, it felt like MAGIC!

My coach knew exactly what questions to ask to pull the answers out of me.

He sensed the most subtle shifts in me that I didn’t even notice.

He helped me see my limiting beliefs that had run my entire life unquestioned.

He held the space for me to dream.

This was the beginning of my self-discovery and, most importantly, my journey to self-love.

As I explored how I wanted to make an impact beyond being an engineering leader, I thought about my coach and his “white magic.”

Little did I know, 10 years later, I would become a solopreneur as a professional coach.

This week marks a significant milestone for me: I acquired my Professional Coach Certification (PCC) from the International Coach Federation (ICF).

While none of my clients have asked for my credentials, this certification is important to me.

It represents more than 1,000 hours of paid and pro bono coaching sessions under my belt.

These hours mean persevering through doubts and fears, especially when I wanted to quit.

Each hour spent coaching has been an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on someone’s life:

  • Emily overcame her imposter syndrome and learned to share her vision with her senior leadership team. She now feels more confident and respected as a leader, showing up authentically in her role.
  • Amy transitioned from a state of uncertainty to discovering her core values and building a business she is passionate about. She now has a balanced life and knows how to set boundaries.
  • Max navigated career challenges with clarity and focus, resulting in a promotion and a better relationship with his work. He developed tools to handle stress and make deliberate decisions about his future.
  • Annie shifted from feeling unfulfilled and insecure to trusting herself and pursuing her dreams. She took the risk to become a founder, aligning her career with her personal mission.
  • Lin moved from stress and confusion to a place of happiness and confidence in her new job. She learned to handle difficult situations and improved her relationships with colleagues.
  • Carlo found clarity and self-trust after experiencing burnout. She learned to separate her identity from her job and focus on what truly matters to her.
  • Sindy overcame overwhelming self-doubt and lack of self-love. Through our sessions, she built a support system and learned to prioritize herself so she approaches challenges with energy, calm, and confidence.

I love that the list keeps going…

I can’t wait for the next 1,000 coaching hours!
