“On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your life? Where 10 represents the best life you can imagine.”
I’ve been asked this question multiple times.
Depending on where I stood in my journey, my responses varied: 7, 6, sometimes 8.
Even during the highs, I’d cap my happiness at a 9.
I couldn’t visualize what a 10 out of 10 life entailed.
Subconsciously, I limited my joy, thinking it left more room for growth.
This mindset often left me feeling not enough, chasing an elusive “perfect life”.
Luckily, a shift occurred a month ago.
I went from never wanting to be married to being blissfully wed.
I went from planning an elopement to celebrating with all my family at my wedding.
I went from being grumpy about writing vows to deeply appreciating the moment.
I went from hesitating to speak at the reception to choking up expressing my love and gratitude toward all guests.
You might wonder, “How has married life altered things?”
Our day-to-day remains unchanged after nine years together. But there’s a profound internal shift.
Now, I know what a 10 out of 10 life looks like – it’s an existence brimming with endless possibilities and miraculous moments, all created from ever-expanding love.
Love for myself, my partner, our families (both old and new), our friends, and even those I’ve yet to meet.
And here’s the beautiful part – I’m already contemplating what an 11 out of 11 life might be.
On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your life? 🥰
Love, Wen
